Balasana Yoga in Vancouver, WA offers Yoga, Pilates, Dance and Fitness classes in a beautiful relaxing setting. “Balasana” is a Sanskrit word that in Hatha Yoga simply means “Childs resting pose”.
Our Mission is to be a socially responsible company which provides a mainstream
opportunity that conveniently fits into your lifestyle, budget, and location.
Our Vision is to help you be mindful of your own body. Always listening and allowing your
body to guide you through all movements. We also love to BE as children, remembering to
be playful and childlike in our approach to fitness - keep it fun and keep it simple. We can
also quite literally go back into child pose (balasana) to rest and renew as well as to listen
and become conscious of our own body, mind & spirit!
Our Global Vision is to help individuals become conscious of their own bodies, thoughts
and spirits. To honor and love the self right NOW, and ultimately to honor, respect and have
love for all life! We believe in order to care for and honor Mother Earth we must begin with the
self and expand our connection and awareness outward from this understanding of self
love. Each of us will achieve greatness, balance & peace through the power of Love.
Be Playful. Be Peaceful. Be Present.
There are many paths of yoga, but the most popular in America is Hatha yoga, that seeks
the union of mind, body, and spirit through a practice of yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation.
We have members who have been asked to do Yoga by their doctor, to recover from car
accidents, broken back or neck and other physical injuries - or to address conditions such as
arthritis, fibro myalgia, scoliosis, etc. The medical community appears to be embracing yoga
as an effective wellness therapy.
We also have members who were sent by their counselor or therapist. Yoga tends to allow a
participant become aware of sensitive areas in both mind and body - laughing and crying are
normal events in our classes as our members experience emotional release by becoming
present and still. At Balasana, we celebrate those moments as a chance to truly connect.
