The Detroit Martial Arts Institute is the ultimate contemporary training facility. Its 7500 square feet facility makes it one of the largest in martial arts facility in Detroit. We have changing facilities, lockers, showers and lighted parking in rear and side of building.
We have frequent practice regimes and structured programs seven days a week . At the Detroit Martial Arts Institute, commitment , self esteem, discipline and physical fitness is what we practice and apply. Isshinryu (One heart/one mind) was developed by Sensei Shimabuku, Okinawa's Grand Master of Shorin-Ryu. He devoted his life to the study of Karate. He was a Master of Goju-Ryu. He studied Kabashi-Ryu under famous Chotokan Kiyan and Later under legendary Choki Motobu.
