The Pilates method is a series of exercises performed on the mat and on equipment developed by Joseph Pilates which simultaneously strengthen the center, lengthen the spine, build muscle tone and increase flexibility, while eliminating excess tension and strain on the joints. The Method develops the body uniformly, corrects bad posture, lengthens and stretches the musculature, restores and increases physical vitality, stimulates the mind and elevates the spirit.
